How our hood program is built
We source hoods with faithful stamp lines, correct hinge mount positions, and inner-frame bonding that maintains torsional stiffness. Aluminum hoods are handled separately — including flat storage and edge protection — because dinged edges become customer complaints.

Any hit hard enough to buckle the hood usually damages hinges and header too.
Hail damage
Hoods are the most-exposed panel; enough dents means a replacement is cheaper than PDR.
Repaint after previous poor repair
Wrinkles or filler that show through modern base/clear are candidates for a fresh stamping.
When a hood is not worth saving
PDR and pull-and-fill only go so far:
- Deep creases across the crown of the hood
- Deformation of the inner reinforcement frame
- Cracked or wrinkled aluminum at the leading edge
- Corrosion perforation along the hem flange

Same year, same trim can differ by market. Wrong material means wrong prep and wrong repair method.
Inspect hinges at replacement
A bent hinge on a fresh hood produces a bad gap immediately. Order hinges together if the impact was significant.
Order latches when needed
Latch and striker geometry decides how the hood sits at rest. Replace them if the mating point was hit.
