Aftermarket Hoods
Front Structural PanelAftermarket Replacement Part

Hoods that land with their gaps set before your body man opens a bag of shims.

A hood is a stamping, a hinge geometry, a latch relationship, and a paint substrate — all at once. Our program controls all four so the panel drops in flush at the fenders and cowl.

Product Overview

How our hood program is built

We source hoods with faithful stamp lines, correct hinge mount positions, and inner-frame bonding that maintains torsional stiffness. Aluminum hoods are handled separately — including flat storage and edge protection — because dinged edges become customer complaints.

Applications

The most common hood replacement jobs

Frontal collision

Any hit hard enough to buckle the hood usually damages hinges and header too.

Hail damage

Hoods are the most-exposed panel; enough dents means a replacement is cheaper than PDR.

Repaint after previous poor repair

Wrinkles or filler that show through modern base/clear are candidates for a fresh stamping.

Signs of Damage

When a hood is not worth saving

PDR and pull-and-fill only go so far:

  • Deep creases across the crown of the hood
  • Deformation of the inner reinforcement frame
  • Cracked or wrinkled aluminum at the leading edge
  • Corrosion perforation along the hem flange
Common Replacement Reasons

Why we replace hoods weekly

  1. 1Frontal collision damage
  2. 2Hail impact beyond PDR economic threshold
  3. 3Rust perforation at hem flange or leading edge
  4. 4Poor prior repair concealed under thick filler
Materials

Panel materials we handle

Cold-rolled steel

The default for domestic pickups and mainstream sedans — welds and paints predictably.

Aluminum stampings

Common on luxury and half-ton pickups; requires isolated storage and rivet-bonded repair techniques.

SMC composite (select)

Some specialty applications use compression-molded composite for weight.

Vehicle Compatibility

Fitment scope

Hoods are stocked across our supported nameplate list with attention to hinge pattern, latch position, and vent/scoop provisions. VIN lookup confirms the exact panel before the pallet ships.

Buying Guide

How to order a hood you won't have to rework

Step 1

Confirm steel vs aluminum

Same year, same trim can differ by market. Wrong material means wrong prep and wrong repair method.

Step 2

Inspect hinges at replacement

A bent hinge on a fresh hood produces a bad gap immediately. Order hinges together if the impact was significant.

Step 3

Order latches when needed

Latch and striker geometry decides how the hood sits at rest. Replace them if the mating point was hit.
